Type Locality and Naming
Along the village of Kurpa, Malguzar Mountains. V.A. Tabachkov et al. in 1964 (460, p. 193).
Synonym: Kurpinian Suite, Курпинская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Variegated polymictic sandstones, siltstone (aleurolites), claystone (argillites), and micaceous slates with layers of black limestones, calcareous siltstone (aleurolites), gravellites; at the base - conglomerates and gravellites. In the lower and middle parts of the section, large olistoliths of light-gray limestones are noted. Thickness more than 300 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Transgressively with angular unconformity, it lies on different horizons of Bashkirian and Lower Bashkirian deposits or conformably on the Baras Beds Fm
Upper contact
According to I.M. Nigmadzhanov; the upper boundary is unknown.
Regional extent
Along the northern slopes of the Malguzar Mountains, along the middle course of the Kurpa, Uab, and Kullisai rivers.

In layers of calcareous siltstone (aleurolites), Late Moscovian conodonts - Idiognathodus obliguus Kos. et Koz., I. delicatus Gun., Streptognathodus parvus Dunn., Gondolella donbassicus Kos. et Koz., G. magna St. et Pl. (165).
